I just had one these procedures today and I didn´t get an anaesthetic nor sedation, and I walked out of there 20 mins later. Different countries, different measures I guess (I´m in the Canary Islands, Spain).

I had my first one today, and after surviving the bland and liquid diet, not to mention the medicine, the procedure was a breeze. In fact it took them longer to get me ready it seemed than the actual test. I was not under anesthesia, but a very relaxing drug and was awake for the whole test. The worries and concern that I put myself through were happily in vain.

I had my first colonoscopy about a month ago. I was very worried about the procedure and sort of afraid. However, it was not a big deal. I was afraid that the sedation was not going to be enough because I have heard some people say they were alert and awake for their colonoscopies. However, I don't remember a thing. It was a simple procedure.

Very good learning tool. I watched this for the first time a few weeks ago, I just had mine done today with no problem, It's a very easy procedure and yet very helpfull.

I've got my first scheduled on Feb 5th, the day before my 58th birthday, and yes, It's my first. A doctor friend finally got me and his wife to go, the same day. He's got his hands full. Thanks for this video. Everyone that fears this procedure (like me)should watch this and get on the schedule.
