Help Luo Yuanlan fight Myelodysplastic Syndrome
Luo Yuanlan is 25 years old. He graduated from Sichuan University in Engineering Management in 2004. After working for only one year after graduation, he was diagnosed myelodysplastic syndrome.Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) is a disease of bone marrow cells. It is a disorder in which the cells in the bone marrow don't function normally and not enough normal blood cells are produced, which caused anemia. Luo Yuanlan's myelodysplastic syndrome is very severe, it does not respond to medication very well. He needs to receive a stem cell (bone marrow) transplant to replace the unhealthy bone marrow cells with healthy ones that can produce normal blood cells.
Stem cell transplant costs about $60,000 in China. Both of his parents are retired. They used all their savings to send me tocollege and have nothing left. To raise money for their son's treatment, Luo Yuanlan's parents plan to sell the small condo they bought for about $20,000. It is $40,000 short for Luo's treatment. Hope donors will help Luo fight the disease.
