Our dreams evolve. And you have just evolved by establishing your commitment to fatherhood. Thank you for sharing something so personal. last entry.

This act (going to the sperm bank) is the first step in securing your dream of becoming a father. And yes, at this moment it is as simple as putting sperm into a cup, but how many people do you know had some grand ceremony while trying to get pregnant? The typical ceremony involves alcohol or a few minutes of..."Hurry up--I've got to get up early tomorrow!" Not really a story worth sharing with the kids, right?

I can tell you that was not a part of my dream, but the outcome has changed me for the better. And looking back, what I live now is still my dream come true--just not in the order I thought it would happen.

And no one as a child dreams that one day when he/she grows up their attempts to have a child will involve nurses, doctors, tubes and frozen sperm--feeling more like a lab experiment (and I am speaking from personal experience). And when it is done, you just may go home and cry because this act was not envisioned in your dream for the future.

Of course, in the moment (and possibly several moments during this period in your life), the idea of the indignity being stripped supercedes the positive outcome of you taking the necessary steps to protect your desire to be a father.

Listen, you shouldn't be pissed because you're sterile. You'll have the sperm in a sperm bank if you want kids. Look at the up side: You wont need to use a condom with your girlfriend anymore. She wont need to be on the pill. You'll still have cum, just no sperm. Sit back, smoke some weed. I hope all goes well for you. I want to be an oncologist one day so I can help people like you.
