Maoists and Monarchs - Nepal
Feb 2006Nepal is slowly spiralling into chaos. Tourism has collapsed as Maoist rebels join forces with pro-democracy activists to demand fundamental change."We challenge the new King", states Human Rights activist Krishna Pahadi. "We want a new Nepal with a functioning democracy, human rights and social justice." Despite already being jailed 25 times, Pahadi and his fellow protestors refuse to give up. There are pro-democracy rallies in Kathmandu every day. They call for the king to be stripped of his power. The royal palace has become a military fortress. Tourism -- once Nepal's main source of income -- has collapsed as negative headlines scare travellers away. Outside Kathmandu, the rebels are in control. "The Maoists come in the night and attack us. They're very dangerous", states 14 year old Bimala. But with the government reluctant to negotiate with rebels, Nepal's problems look set to get worse.

we have to blame ourselves for not taking care of "our" country, no one else to be blamed. its high time.. we have to struggle for the development of nepal all together. we need to think about present and not just stick to the past and waste time. Nepal is dying..we need to cute it, together....

The Maoist units are the good guys, the Monarchy is very corrupt and actually criminally insane as he helped murder innocent family members! The Maoists and Freedom movement will join to liberate your country!
