Dr. Donald Tashkin Marijuana Lung Cancer Study Pt 1 of 2
Pulmonary specialist and Federal Government researcher from UCLA Geffen School of Medicine finds that marijuana does not cause lung cancer in his study on the effects of cannabis and the lungs. Results of this study are discussed for the first time. If you agree that cannabis should be legal, write a letter to your congressperson and tell them to legalize it!

Alcohol is more of a gateway drug than cannabis.

Too much of anything is not a good thing. Finding balance is important. Eating fat stresses our whole body, but not eating fat makes us freeze to death in the winter. The important thing is to be able to find what works for you, and to know what "works" means.

Pot IS a gateway drug due to lies coming from those who wish for it to be illegal. Marijuana needs to be used responsibly, but is nowhere near the potential for doing harm to the most people as say cocaine, alcohol, etc. When it is presented as being equally harmful through D.A.R.E or by ignorant parents, kids try weed and find out it is ok and that they were lied to... "so maybe they were lying about cocaine" is the question the kid asks, with noone to trust to find the answer but themselves.

If you look at some of these marijuana cancer "studies", it's ridiculous. They take people who supposedly smoke 20 joints a day. Who smokes 20 joints a day?
Even when I used to be the biggest pothead, I never even came close to smoking 20 joints a day. I've never met anyone in my life who smokes/ed that much.
I don't smoke anything anymore, but I don't think people should be criminalized for using weed. The Government waste too much money trying to eradicate weed, when there is no need.

Cannabis is an anti-inflamitory, just like aspirin. This means that if you use aspirin to reduce the inflamation of arthritis, cannabis will do the same job without the negative side effects of ingesting a poison like aspirin.People with MS find immediate relief when they use cannabis. Not to mention the benefits to the lungs discussed in the video with Dr. Tashkin as he described cannabis as a vasodialator(sp?), or a vein opener. Tobacco does the opposite.Still need proof?

Hiphop made a good point about aspirin and the easy and legal access to this drug. Aspirin is legal and anyone can buy it in any quantity or strength.Chemically, aspirin is a poison. If enough is taken you will surely die. The amount needed to kill is little.Yet, aspirin is legal. More people are treated for aspirin overdose per year then any other drug.Cannabis is not legal. No one has ever needed treatment for an overdose of cannabis. No one ever has died because of cannabis use.

hiphop, you seem to be missing the point of the discussion. I agree with you about what we "should" be talking about and where the discussion of legalizing cannabis is concerned, I believe that the government should stay out of my business. The problem is with the Federal Government and they made a "political" decision to regulate cannabis. The feds could care less about your beliefs.

...wow after reading all the comments on this video i have to say you are so fucking convoluted it's funny to me
hiphopisntacrime (July 27, 2008 at 1:09 pm)
it has nothing to do with politics; just because the FDA defines it as a drug doesn't make it automatically illegal. Aspirin is a drug but it's no illegal. Weather you call it a drug or not is a moot point. The point should be what the effects are and if it is beneficial or not. whether you consider a 'drug' or not has nothing to do with anything
