Over 80 doctors in Puerto Rico were arrested for allegedly obtaining medical licenses through fraud and bribery. It is alleged that the accused paid as much as $10,000 to alter low scores on qualifying examinations.

From Alabama,
Nearly 20% of elderly Americans report having hada "whispering" stroke. A "whispering" stroke often presents with very subtle signs of weakness, confusion, blurred vision or imbalance. While most with these symptoms do not require medical attention, they can result in reduced mental and physical function.

From Milan,
Coffee may prevent liver cancer. Researchers combining the results of 10 studies noted a 41% reduction in liver cancer. For every cup drank per day, the risk was lowered by 23%. The researchers speculate that coffee has an protective effect on liver enzymes.

And finally, from Argentina
There is a reason shift workers may be angry. Researchers comparing those who worked rotating shifts to only day shifts noted low levels of the neurotransmitter- serotonin. Serotonin is believed to play a role in regulating sleep cycles, and low levels have been linked to depression and anxiety.
