I always feel that the doctors and dietitians can make better judgement than I because of their background and differing situations that they face. Everyone responds to treatment differently. I received chemo with a number of others cancer patients, and we were all having very different reactions. We were using different prescriptions depending on our individual situations. I think it's important that you at least asked! I feel badly for you and your father. I hope things get better for you!

My father is in his second round of chemo. I suggested to him that he ask his doctor about marinol because he is having trouble maintaining an appetite. He is rapidly losing weight and I am very concerned about it. He told me that when he discussed with his "dietician" she said it may counteract with the drugs they are using in his treatment. He also suffers the gagging and acid reflux feelings. I would just like to know your views or if you have any insight.

To anyone who really likes yogurts, if you live in Canada especially in Quebec, LIBERTY makes great yogurts. Organic ones, and non-organics.

They also make Kefir which is tasty if you like that type of thing.

The yogurt I like is 8% fat. It's Liberte Mediterrean. Good stuff

Not super healthy since it's not organic but still very good yogurt which will help the mood haha :)

Well, I never wanted to kill myself, but I was mad! I just had to deal with it, and go through all the treatment procedures for all the summer months. Now it's gone. Marinol is the next best thing to marijuana here in Florida, I would have to be in California or some place to get the medical use card. :(

Whats it like to have cancer?! I would kill myself....marinol is synthetic...you should go to a medical marijuana state where its legal and use natural weed

Thanks Yankeegurl. Good news... my immune system is back to normal now. Also I only had to use my feed tube for about 2 or 3 weeks, but I've been back to eating normal for a few weeks now. Thanks for leaving info on Yobaby for others to consider! You are right on about loading up with water! It cleanses the body!

Hi, I've emailed you, but I'll post this info here..since your immune system is smashed, if you are still using your g-tube, this can be used to. It's called Yobaby---it has at least 6 active cultures, and it will help the flora in your gut. I used it with the premission of my sisters Doc's at Dana Farber up in Boston. For the nausa---the doc's at Dana would load my sister up (she used to say she felt like the mitchlen man after wards) with water, it help combat the neg. effects of chemo.
