Re: Stem Cells: A New (Gross?) Source


I did research on endometrial stem cells which can be extracted in menstrual blood, however, we are still years away from anything resulting from this research. At best we can hope for new drugs and new treatments. It needs to be clear the cells will not create tumours or disorganized tissue in patients as some cancer related effects were detected in the testing. Scientists say it is still important to pursue the strategy of using cloned cells from embryos.

I had arranged with my babies birth for a place called Cryosite where they store the cord blood and when I gave birth or just b4 I reminded them and they replied"we don't have that service here" the bloody hospitals use it for themselves but I was paying out the money for insurance on all my kids lives and possibly the entire family could have used this....this one is touchy for me...we also have a uni here so id say they would have got it for thier stinkin research good vid B-)

Tom, maybe, we should just save up money and get you to go to Saudi Arabia. This is going to take years here and the pharmaceutical companies are going to get their hands on this to make drugs and for the benefit of the dollar.

Hope theres a new stem cell breakthrough soon and patients around the world will be happy. It's tough like a formula though but not impossible.
