Hope for pregnant women with leukemia
Nearly three thousand people are diagnosed with leukemia in Russia each year - among them a handful of pregnant women. Until recently there was little hope of survival as physicians refused to treat them for fear of harming their unborn children.

What?? You gotta be kidding! In worst case scenarios, chemotherapy alone can kill you! while it kills bad cancer cells, it kills good cells too. And while it is often a cure, it's still poison. I've seen it destroy a person's body, imagine what it does if a mother receiving chemotherapy is pregant; what further damage it would do to her AND her baby's bodies.

Who cares? That's apathetic. That's an entirely different disease. It's bad because their immune system is not in full strength and since the cancer involves the blood that's bad because the baby uses the nutrients in the blood to survive so it's a big deal
