Loretta LaRoche kicks up her heels in new book
Humorist Loretta LaRoche is more than 60 years old now and still laughing, knowing it's more important than ever to follow her own advice. Life still brings plenty of rewards, but also challenges. Last year, her daughter Laurie, 44, was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma. And she's been adjusting to living again as a single woman, after the divorce from her second husband of more than 20 years.``We're all more vulnerable as we get older,'' said LaRoche. ``When your child tells you she has a life-threatening illness, it puts you more in touch with life itself. You begin to get more in touch with time fleeing.''In her just published sixth book, ``Kick Up Your Heels ... Before You're Too Short to Wear Them,'' LaRoche candidly talks about herself, the funny woman letting the public in on her life. Like millions of baby boomers, she faces the challenge of ``aging well.''
