Children of Chernobyl, Chernobyl victims, Chernobyl children


Chernobyl Children's Project New Mexico serves children aged 7-17, who are the first born of the survivors of the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster.Because of radiation contamination in food and soil, many children in Belarus suffer a range of afflictions, including a 1200% increase in cases of thyroid cancer, very low immune systems and birth defects. Many remain undiagnosed due to lack of medical facilities.

The goal with our programs is to enrich the lives of these children, renew their health, and to educate the community locally and worldwide about this tragic ongoing health situation, which could last hundreds or thousands of years.
