Funeral for Cedar Rapids Fire Captain Brett Henderson
Firefighters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and surrounding communities gathered Thursday, January 24, 2008, for the funeral of Cedar Rapids Fire Captain Brett Henderson, who died Sunday, January 20, 2008 after a battle with brain cancer. He was 41. A 19-year veteran of the department, Henderson also spent two years training Star, a mixed-breed dog donated to him by the Cedar Valley Humane Society, to become the only disaster search dog in the area. Grew up in Cedar Rapids for 22 years. CRFD was a part of my daily work for quite awhile. Rest In Peace Brother, from the Toledo Police Department, cops need heroes too!
