HPV FACTS and THROAT CANCER (human papilloma virus)

My girlfriend was diagnosed with HPV about 6 years ago. Since then I have been studying HPV extensively (human papilloma virus) and have been to several doctors and specialist. In doing so I noticed a ton of websites and even doctors giving wrong information about HPV!I decided to put all my findings into video form and opened this youtube account where I will be discussing new findings and would like to make this page a forum for discussing the skin disease.

one MAJOR finding that most doctors and websites are still not aware of is that HPV is a major causeof Head and Neck Cancers (Mouth and Throat). Most websites, doctors and people are still under the impression that HPV only affects a womans cervix. WRONG! It affects BOTH men and women.

You can get it a number of ways, 1 being through oral sex. Condoms DO NOT protect against it. There areoften no signs or symptoms and its extremely hard to test for. Men cannot be test at all. Most people have no idea they even have HPV! Its extemely deadly though and they say that about 80% of the US population will get at least 1 of the 100+ types of this contagious skin to skin contact diseaseat some point in their lives.

My hope is that after you watch this video you will be much better informed and will either prevent yourself from getting HPV or you will see doctors regularly to prevent yourself from developing the various types of cancer (throat, mouth, penile, vulva, cervical, andanal).

If you have confirmation that a gynecologist has found HPV during a PAP smear on you or your girlfriend, you need to also regularly see an ENT (Ear Nose&Throat) Doctor (costs about $250-$300 without insurance to have them check you out and put the scope down your throat that has the little camera on it) and an Oral Medicine Specialist (cost about $150 without insurance if you got to a college). The THROAT cancer side of all this is the one that concerns me most, as there are NO Signs there is a problem! Even a dentist is not able to detect HPV in your throat. Only an ENT will be able to do so. Most people wait till there are symptoms or pain to see a doctor. DONT!!!! If you do, it will be too late. By then, the cancer will have spread to your nervous system (thus causing you pain) and by that time it can spread to any other major organ in your body. 50% of those diagnosed at this stage will die.

Oral cancer claims 10's of thousands of lives in the United States PER YEAR!And does NOT depend on age! You can get this at any time.

HPV is rampid. Protect yourself by either getting vaccinated or by seeing a doctor regularly (every 6 months to 1 year). Please post any questions that you have. Hope this helps! For more information, visit www.OralCancerFoundation.org

I would go see a doctor right away. There's often even doctors at free clinics that are knowledgeable about this stuff. What could it hurt?

I doubt its HPV though. Are you male or female?
