Discussing Bad News (Advanced Cancer Care conversations)


This socio-drama based segment is from The Pallium Project's, first generation Clinical Communication in Hospice Palliative Care instructional video series. The Clinical Communication series is a set of reflective-discussion based discussion videos intended to support a variety of critical reflective conversations in pre-service education and continuing professional development.This segment can be used to:
1) Explore the importance of primary-care professionals communicating with specialist and other colleagues about life-changing information; and
2) Reflecting on the importance of framing clinical information sharing in ways patients can readily engage and around whichshared understanding can be built.
