Advances in Radiation Therapy for Cancer Treatment


Radiation therapy in cancer treatment has advanced significantly in the past few years because of clinical trials and breakthroughs in technology and computer imaging, and use of proton therapy. M D Anderson is working toward improving use, and lessing side effects of radiation treatment.

It depends on the type of radiation and how you are exposed to it, in this situation, no, there is no pain.

No, radiation does not hurt. You won't feel anything during treatment. People usually complain about the pain associated with the side effects and there are ways to manage those. Hope that helps.Mahmud Moallim, Radiation Therapist from Toronto
